PROJECT SCOPE

Auto company sold one of their brands to a different group based in Europe and wanted a system that can help the interact between two systems to keep track of all the dealers and subsidiaries in Europe. Legacy application was on a mainframe application and my task was to create an web based application that can get all the information from the mainframe and deliver to the European users.

I started off my project by a quick brainstorming session. This helped me see what elements this project will have and allowed me to evaluate where to start my research.

INTERVIEWS

To start off this project I went on to interview a few users at US users and European users to get a better understanding of their day to day process and how do they usually address the tasks. I want to ensure I am developing a vision that addresses their needs and fits seamlessly into their process.

INTERVIEW TAKEAWAYS

European users wanted a web based user friendly application that can perform the same tasks the mainframe application did.

US users wanted the web based application to be scalable to be use by GM in the future so the mainframe can be retired.
